When the Modern Farmhouse style of homes and furniture became popular several years ago, we noticed an interesting trend. Many small woodworking companies started popping up that would sell modern farmhouse dining room tables with bench seating. They would offer several different versions of the same design at fairly affordable prices. We suspect that the increase in companies making these types of pieces had to do with their simplicity. Just about anyone with any sort of woodworking experience, or any level of skill, can build a simple table or bench. At least some of these companies were probably started by enthusiastic DIYers looking to make a little side income.
