Highly Customized Desk for a Golf Enthusiast in Rancho Santa Fe

At Three Pines Wood Co., we love a highly customized project! This client in Rancho Santa Fe was looking for a custom desk for his newly constructed home. But this wasn’t just any custom office desk. This executive desk would double as a display case for the client’s extensive golf ball collection!

We worked closely with the client to design a custom desk that would complement his new home’s Modern Farmhouse style. We also designed it to accommodate his 6’7” frame and to fit perfectly in his new home office. The finished desk measures 65” long, 30” wide, and 34” tall, with 3.5” tapered legs. It is built from solid Walnut that was hand rubbed to give it a rich, dark finish that stands in contrast to the home’s whitewashed Oak floors and the soft tones of the rug on which the desk sits. Even the drawers are built from Walnut and feature dovetail joints.

The top of the desk is made up of three trays, which are covered by a single piece of glass. The three trays were custom made to display our client’s collection of golf balls, and each tray can be pulled out to easily add to the collection or to change out the golf balls that are on display. The desk’s two drawer banks feature drawers for storage, as well as two large drawers for hanging file racks. On the room side, there are additional display cases that can house more golf balls or other decorative items. Overall, the custom desk can accommodate up to 275 golf balls!

Now, our client can work from a desk that is not only functional, but that also communicates his love for golf to anyone who enters his office.
