Whenever we work with a new client, we start by listening. We listen not only to how they say they want their custom furniture piece to look, but also how they will use it, and the feeling they want it to help give the room in which it will be placed.
For example, when a homeowner tells us they want us to build a dining room table that will be used regularly by their large family that is comprised of multiple generations, this tells us a few things about how the table should be designed and built. It should definitely be solid, so it can withstand years of heavy use. It should also be constructed using a type of wood that is hard, so the table won’t be easily dented, and finished in a way that will make it easy to maintain. Its design should be functional, but still beautiful—making it a focal piece in the home.
The design software we use allows us to provide every client with a realistic rendering of their piece. After reviewing it, they are able to make any final changes before we start construction. This way, when we show up with the completed piece, there are no surprises. We build every piece according to the agreed-upon renderings.
