We have some exciting news to share! Three Pines Wood Co. has been selected as one of the artisans to be featured at the 31st annual Western Design Conference (WDC) in Jackson Hole, Wyoming! The WDC is an exclusive event for artists of all types to showcase their work to high-end buyers and interior designers from all over the country—and even from other parts of the world!
The conference will feature approximately 100 artists in a variety of categories such as leather, metal, jewelry, fashion, and woodworking. To be accepted into the WDC, we had to send in an application, along with some photos of our work. Since this is an event that focuses essentially on functional art pieces, we submitted some of our more uniquely designed furniture pieces to secure our spot in this elite event.
The event is designed to appeal to buyers who are looking for special, one-of-a-kind pieces for their homes or to wear. It also attracts interior designers and stylists looking for unique pieces for their clients. Many of the artists featured at the WDC have a Southwest flair to their work, but they all are definitely geared toward a high-end audience.
Three Pines will have a booth at the show, in which we will showcase some pieces for sale. We will also be submitting a never-before-seen piece for judging, with the chance to earn some prize money. While we aren’t able to post pictures of our submission before the event, we will be posting “teasers” on our Three Pines Wood Co. Facebook page, so stay tuned for that! Follow us on Facebook, if you haven’t already, to see the updates.
The event will take place from September 7-10, 2023 at the Snow King Center in Jackson Hole. It opens with a fashion show and a preview party on Thursday night. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, attendees can shop among the booths. They can also meet with the artists to discuss commissions.
To say we are excited about this event is an understatement! Not only are we looking forward to making some unique pieces to showcase to potential buyers, but we are also excited about meeting other top woodworkers from around the country. Last year, the WDC only accepted twelve woodworkers into the show, so it is a rather exclusive group! We are honored to be counted among the woodworkers that were selected for this year’s event.
If you happen to be in Jackson Hole in early September, you might want to consider stopping by the Western Design Conference—especially if you love unique, Western-inspired pieces made by talented craftsmen and women.
