Three Pines Wood Co. is based in Ramona, CA and serves local customers in the greater San Diego area. We approach each project with a fresh perspective, remembering that we are not selling you a ready-made product, but are building custom-designed pieces that benefit from conversation and collaboration. About the Owner

Three Pines Wood Co. is the shop of Jack Ward, a veteran woodworker who’s built hand-crafted furniture, custom cabinets, and much more for hundreds of homeowners and business customers in the San Diego area.

Jack is also a Mechanical Engineer, having graduated from San Diego State University in the top 10 of his class. He is a husband and father who enjoys including his kids in the business whenever possible and building custom furniture for his wife.

But Where Did the Name Come From?

Some companies just make up a catchy name from thin air. That’s fine, but our name actually has meaning. Here’s the story …

Although Pine isn’t always thought of as a high-end wood, for many years it’s been the material of choice for the construction of long-lasting furniture and structural applications, like the framing in houses. There are over 100 species of Pine in use today, and while it may not be the best material for all applications, it’s a favorite of my wife’s. That, combined with the fact that we have three children is the genesis of our company name.
