Are you old enough to remember when things were built to last? Even if you aren’t, you’ve likely heard your parents or grandparents talk about the good old days when things lasted for more than just a few years—and were even passed down from parents to their children.
Furniture used to be something that didn’t wear out, because it was built from solid wood, using tried and true construction methods. Sure, it may have needed some refinishing or repair work from time to time, but the effort was worth it to maintain a high-quality piece.
Today, it seems like the norm for many families is to buy inexpensive pieces of furniture that start to show wear and tear, or even start to fall apart, after only a few years. They often can’t be refinished or repaired because they are made from materials like particle board and staples. They aren’t even suitable to be passed on to a young adult child moving into his or her first apartment. Instead, they end up in a landfill.
If you want to remove yourself from the cycle of having to replace often-used furniture pieces every few years—pieces like coffee tables, dining tables, bedroom furniture, or desks—consider having a quality piece built by Three Pines Wood Co.
Here at Three Pines, we design and build what we consider to be heirloom-quality custom furniture pieces. These are pieces that can be used and enjoyed by you and your family for many, many years.
Timeless Designs, Classic Construction, Quality Materials
Because our pieces are built to last a lifetime (or more), many of our designs have a sense of timelessness to them. That isn’t to say we are opposed to designing a custom furniture piece for a client that’s more on the trendy side. We can certainly do that. Our clients just tend to prefer designs that won’t go out of style any time soon because they plan on using them for many years to come.
We also use a lot of classic construction methods when we build custom furniture for San Diego homes. In our furniture pieces, you’ll see things like dovetail joints and mortise and tenon joints, as well as other construction methods that you won’t find in the mass-produced furniture pieces sold in most retail stores.
You’ll also find that our custom furniture pieces are made from a variety of quality hardwoods. We aren’t limited to a few species of wood. Instead, we construct our pieces out of the types of wood that our clients want. Some of our clients prefer common wood species like Pine, Oak, or Walnut, while others want something more exotic or rare. We can source just about any species of wood there is, as long as the client has the budget for it.
