Not every task in life requires a perfectionist to complete it. You can certainly get away with a “good enough” job for things like washing your car or organizing your home. But when it comes to having a piece of custom wood furniture built for your San Diego home, you want to hire a perfectionist!
In the world of custom furniture building, perfectionists are those who will take the time to hand select the perfect pieces of lumber for your project. They are the ones who will carefully measure and cut each piece to ensure they fit together perfectly. They will take the extra time to use traditional joinery for added stability in the furniture they build. They will sand the wood until it is as smooth as it can be. And they will mix up a custom stain if that’s what they need to do to get the color just right on your piece.
At Three Pines Wood Co., we are definitely perfectionists! Our owner, Jack Ward, has an engineering background, and if you know anything about engineers, they’re nothing if they’re not perfectionists! You have to be a perfectionist in engineering. One wrong calculation and things can go very wrong!
Jack’s perfectionism carries over into his woodworking. He and his team are meticulous in every stage of the process—from furniture design, to building, to finishing—and even to delivery. He won’t deliver a piece of furniture to a client until he is completely satisfied that it is as perfect as it possibly can be, and when he does, it will be handled with the type of care you would expect from someone who spent many hours carefully crafting a piece.
The only downside to this is that perfectionism takes time. When you order a piece of custom furniture from a company that is committed to this level of quality, you don’t see the results overnight. You have to allow time for your custom wood furniture piece to be designed, built, and finished to your exact specifications. If you need a piece of furniture right away, you’ll have to go to a furniture store or shop online from a company that sells mass-produced pieces. You might be able to get your new furniture within the week, but we promise you it won’t be the same quality as a custom-built piece by Three Pines, and it won’t be made just for you!
Here at Three Pines, we believe that quality furniture is worth the wait—especially if it’s a piece you plan to use for many years. The furniture we make will stand the test of time.
